Mike Francesa

Mike Francesa brings his feisty, hard-hitting brand of sports talk to WFAN weekday afternoons from 1:00 to 6:30 PM. The Mike and the Mad Dog show debuted on the FAN in September of 1989 creating the two man talk team that is now the industry standard. Their show has been at or near the top of the ratings book ever since.

Beyond the numbers, the Mike and the Mad Dog show is known far and wide in the world of sports. Athletes and coaches not only appear as guests, they are listeners as well.

The Mike and the Mad Dog show has aired WFAN since 1989. Mike has earned the respect of both listeners and his peers. An extremely intelligent and articulate talk show host, Mike’s knowledge of the sports world goes unmatched by anyone in the business.

Mike’s career has included stops at CBS Sports where he served as an in-studio analyst for college football and basketball as well as a stint at MSG Network. During the NFL season, Mike hosts a Sunday morning program, The NFL Now with Mike Francesa, which is syndicated nationally and simulcast on MSNBC.

A graduate of St. John’s University, Mike resides on Long Island.

Mike and the "Mad Dog" Win Major Industry Award

Mike Francesa and Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo, won the 2000 Marconi Award for Major Market Personality of the Year. The announcement was made on Saturday night September 23 at the 2000 National Association of Broadcasters Marconi Radio Awards Dinner and Show in San Francisco, CA, the closing event of the annual NAB Radio Show.
