East Rutherford, NJ (WFAN) -- Kiss the Rings? Nope. None of that on Sunday. No kissing...Just hard hitting! And all the talk was backed up....and by the way, in my opinion talk alllllllllllllllll you want. I LOVE the chatter. What should teams do? Being quiet is so boring....Since I like Bart Scott's opinions on basically everything...lets get his about all this talk...he says that...we...listen. I LOVE this guy.
That is one confident S.O.B......As for the game Sunday, it was a Jets defensive showcase snapping an 8 game home losing streak to the Patriots, 16-9. The Pats were able to move the ball, but could not cross the goal line. For the 2nd straight game the Jets held their opponent without an offensive touchdown. Gee, that ain't bad. Rex Ryan talking the talk..and now his team walking the walk. Everyone wanted to chat with Kerry Rhodes after the game about his comments earlier in the week that he wanted to go out and "embarrass the Patriots" so we hear from Senor Rhodes (who I am also a big fan of because of his "brashness") who is sick of the word he used in the first place :)
So between Ryan, Scott and Rhodes the 2009 Jets have plenty of yappers and so far through 2 games they have put their money where their mouths are. The defense had Tom Brady confused for most of the afternoon. He didn't have his 2nd favorite target in Wes Welker who was inactive with a knee injury. OH - when Coach Belichick was asked after the game why Welker didn't play his response was "because he was on the inactive list." Good times...hahaha! Darrelle Revis had an interception and held Randy Moss to 4 catches for 24 yards. Through 2 games he is your defensive MVP, who I almost injured in the locker room when I stepped back and kicked him :( I'm sorry....I didn't mean to. He is ok...don't fret.
The offense played well enough. Not great, but didn't make the big mistake and scored just enough points to come out on top. Mark Sanchez played well in his 2nd start...he was rattled in his first snap and was nothing special in the 1st half -- 3-5 for 15 yards...but came back strong in the 3rd quarter 7-11 for 119 yards and a touchdown to Dustin Keller. The one TD in the game. Leon Washington rushed for 58 yards and Thomas Jones 54 both with 14 carries and all this was enough to lift the Jets to 2-0.
I love the swagger, I love the re-vamped attitude, I love not having to cover a team coached by Eric Mangini (sorry Jerry Recco...but that must've sucked!!!) I will have more on Monday but now Mia must sleep after working a Saturday overnight then straight to a 1 pm Sunday football game....tired would be an understatement and my brain has now shut down.
Jets 2-0...proved me and many wrong with the shutdown of the New England offense in Week 2!
Great win!! And lets cheer for a coach with the guts and sense to shelve the "prevent" defense. First time in over 40 years I have been confident that we will see an attacking aggressive, well coached JET team.

tampering charges
what is sanfran doing are they saying that the jets receiving core stinks by charging jets with tampering when we know for sanfran its all about crabtree,,again rex is ssatying that the jets are a good football team,,,
What off-season? It was just over a month ago that the football season ended and already we are back busy at work. Since the Jets finished in the final 4 they don’t have the ability to be very active in free agency so I figured things would be quiet as the NFL new year started on March 5th. Um…not so much. Not with Mike Tannenbaum in charge.
It was a nice ride, but stopping Peyton Manning is one of the most difficult tasks in sports and the Jets just fell short. I honestly don't think it was any one thing in particular that the Jets failed to do...
The AFC championship game. Am I really sitting here writing about the Jets taking on the Colts in the game that will decide who represents the AFC in the Super Bowl?
They are the only show left in town and you better hop on quickly because the bandwagon is filling up. As expected it was a very packed house on Wednesday for day 1 of the fun leading up to Sunday's AFC championship game in Indianapolis.
They’ve gone from improbable to the AFC Championship game. Not bad for a team that many said didn’t belong in the final 12. Two weeks ago everyone was yapping how LUCKY the Jets were to make the tournament and that maybe they didn’t deserve it...WRONG. So VERY WRONG.
There is a fine line between confidence and cockiness. For much of the season people have perceived this Jets team as an overly cocky group that had not yet earned the right to be talking such a big game. How about now?
Looking back to Week 12 when the 4-6 Jets were preparing to play the Panthers, things looked grim. There were MANY good seats available in the media room...
