- The Mets took four of the six games from the Yankees. It was their first season series win over the Yanks since 2004 and only their second ever vs. their cross town rival.
- The Mets and Yankees played 33 regular season games against one another at Shea. The Yanks won 17 and the Mets 16.
- The Yankees all-time record at Shea, including the 2000 World Series, the 1974 and '75 regular seasons, the games vs. the Mets in interleague play and one game against the Angels in 1998, was 110 and 86.
- Robin Ventura, Miguel Cairo and Tony Clark are the only players to homer for both the Mets vs. the Yankees and for the Yankees vs. the Mets in interleague play.
