Carlin Blog: Down And Dirty

Finally, something to talk about other than the weather. Thank you, Aaron Kampman.

The Packers' Pro Bowl defensive lineman, among others, pointed out the Giants are a dirty team. (In case you missed it, you can check out the article here.) Kampman actually pointed it out back in week 2, but the others made sure to follow up this week.

Shaun O'Hara was the main target, as Kampman said that O'Hara hit him after the whistle with a forearm to the back of the neck. The laughable part? Since Kampman tried to lay low, the man who agreed with him: Rodney Harrison. When Osi Umenyiora heard that today, he almost fell off the mini-stage where the podium was in the media room.

As you would expect, it was the big topic. Also as you would expect, not many of the Giants took the bait. But if they were looking for any extra little motication (see: Barber & Crayton,) maybe they found it today.

Other topics:

Sam Madison: limited in practice today. When we spoke to Sam he was in good spirits. I tried to get a little something out of him, but he wouldn't specify how much he was able to do. He said, "We'll see," with a smile a few times. He did admit that he's feeling much better than he has, and when I asked him if he was optimistic about his chances of playing, he did say, "Very." Take that for what it's worth.

"Seinfeld:" Yes, "Seinfeld." By now you've probably heard that a local TV station in Green Bay has decided to pull a 5:30pm episode of "Seinfeld" on Saturday because they heard it was Eli Manning's favorite show. Leave it to Michael Strahan to point out the astutely obvious to the TV execs: "You know, 'Seinfeld' is on DVD now. He can watch it on DVD."

(And by the way, you haven't been entertained until you've seen Anthony "Fooch" Fucilli from MSG, not exactly a Tom Coughlin favorite, ask TC about 'Seinfeld.' Worth the trip across the rivers.)

And oh yeah, the weather. Apparently, it's going to be chilly in Green Bay Sunday.

Lastly, and wisely, nobody crossed Ernie Palladino today. A few close calls, but the Italian Stallion remained at bay. I thank the Good Lord everyday for that man.

Til tomorrow kids.
