1-11 Big Game in Big D

Sunday could be the biggest game the Cowboys and Giants have ever played against each other  and the feeling for both of these teams couldn't be more different. While many prognosticators are picking the Giants to win this game, the Giants are playing with house money. In a season where many thought the Giants weren't going to do anything, they made the playoffs and Coughlin and Eli got their first playoff win. This game, while an amazing opportunity is a bonus game for the Giants. On the other hand the pressure has to be on in Big D. The Cowboys coming off that disaster to the Seahawks in last year's playoffs haven't won a playoff game in 11 years, they're the number 1 seed and are expected to be in the Super Bowl. The Giants are going to be playing fast and loose while maybe the Cowboys are going to play tight. This morning, much like yesterday, Boomer & Carton had a stark disagreement over who's going to win this game.

Carton's Anti- Giants Rant

Carton is ticked off with Giants fans and rightly so. All year Carton has praised the Giants to no end and most of the time his enthusiasm has been met with skepticism and apathy from Giants fans calling in the show. Now, when Carton is just being honest because he doesn't think the Giants are going to win, Giant fans are killing him. So he's mad and here's a part of what he had to say about the Giants this morning:

"It is a LOCK. There's no way the Giants are going to win this game against the Cowboys. The Giants are coming off a win against Tampa Bay and they're acting like they beat the Patriots. On top of that they're talking a whole lot of smack. Osi Umenyiora saying the Cowboys aren't better then the Giants. Uh Osi, yes they are and if you were better this game would be a Giants Stadium where by the way, you stink."

Boomer's Pro Giants Rant

Boomer thinks Carton is all wrong. He thinks the Giants have what it takes on both the offensive and defensive sides of the football. On D Umenyiora and Strahan are going to get pressure on Tony Romo and on offense Boomer thinks Eli will continue his renaissance. Here's what Boomer had to say in defense of Big Blue:

"Have the Cowboys ever beat one team three times in one season? No. Has Tony Romo ever won a playoff game? No. Is Romo 100%? Maybe, maybe not. What about Terrell Owens? How well have the Cowboys played over the last month? Add that to the fact the Giants have won 8 games in a row on the road. They're playing with house money and they are going to play loose. That's why the Giants can win this game and are going to win this game."

So with both guys vehemently disagreeing how is this going to be settled? Well if the Giants win then Craig said he's going to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge in a Speedo and if the Cowboys win Boomer will let Craig onto his MSG show this coming week. Good luck to our competitors.

Girl of the Week: Jessica Simpson Week

Will always be # 1 to this Giants fan

The New York Times points out this morning that every member of the Giants 2007 Draft Class has been a contributor for the Giants this year, a rarity in the league. One of the rookies who has been contributing big time has been Kevin Boss, who's filled in at Tight End brilliantly since Jeremy Shockey went down. This morning Boss, who missed yesterday's practice with the flu, joined Boomer & Carton this morning to preview the Big Game in Big D:

Terrell Owens health has been a constant question this week since he hasn't played since suffering a high ankle sprain in Dallas's game against Carolina. Yesterday, on the NFL Network, Dion Sanders interviewed T.O. and he asked him if T.O. was going to be ready and T.O. said, "Get your popcorn ready." Good news for Giants fans, the last time T.O. said that phrase it was before the Patriot game, a game Dallas lost 48-27.

He said it was going to happen yesterday but it didn't. This morning Craig's promise that his new friend from the Knicks game, Padma Lakshmi, the host of Top Chef on Bravo, and a  former girl of the week, called in:

Boomer & Carton's Repell-X Rat of the Week Winner

Dr. Phil

Believe it or not but there are other games outside of the Cowboys-Giants game this weekend. Actually it should be a great NFL weekend as the four games will be hosted by four great franchises. Dan Dierdorf of CBS  joined the guys to talk about Colts- Chargers:, while Joe Buck of FOX went around the league with the guys to end up, where else, on the Giants and Cowboys:

Boomer & Carton's NFL Playoffs Picks

Boomer: Green Bay: 28 Seattle(+8): 24                              Carton: Green Bay(-8): 27 Seattle: 14
Patriots(-13.5): 34 Jaguars: 14                                       Patriots(-13.5): 30 Jaguars: 10
 Colts(-9):38 Chargers: 17                                                Colts: 24 Chargers(+9): 21
Giants(+7.5): 31 Dallas: 28                                                      Dallas(-7.5): 27 Giants: 13

On the year Carton's 28-11-1 and 4-0 so far in the playoffs while Boomer is 19-20-1 on the year and is after the first round is 2-2 with his playoff picks. Everyone enjoy all the football this weekend and I'll see you on Monday morning.

B&C Blog: 11-6 Day Long Celebration
Well, the guys kicked-off today’s Radio Program fromMudville 9, a bar located at 126 Chambers Street in Manhattan, which just happens to be a stones’ throw away from the parade route that the World Champion New York Yankees will take for their celebration. The bar was packed and the energy level was high, but unfortunately for everyone, we had some technical problems and the guys had to cut the remote part of the broadcast short and head back to the WFAN studios to finish the final three hours of the pre-parade celebration. When the guys arrived back here to Hudson Street, Craig was still wearing his Yankee hat, which rubbed Boomer the wrong way. The guys then had a discussion about the future of Yankee darling, Andy Pettitte, who is not under contract for next season…Plus, Craig declares that nothing tops being a New Yorker, then he pleads with school teachers to act human today before Jerry gives us a quick sports update, the overnight star duo of Fo Onassis and Mina perform their hit ‘Here Come the Yankees’, the Governor David Paterson gives us his parade plans, I man very special to me - Fergal Murray – who just happens to be the Guinness Brewmaster (mmmmm Guinness), Craig’s new TV partner (for the day) Chris Wragge calls to make sure Craig is all set for today’s appearance on CBS 2, World Famous Tattoo Lou talks about Yankee ink, a Moment that sums up the day and the guys NFL picks…
B&C Blog: 11-5 That's That
After last night’s Game 6 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies, the New York Yankees are back, where they believe, they belong. Pedro Martinez was far from good and Andy Pettitte did what he had to do to earn his 18th post season victory, of his 15 year career. I’m not gonna lie, today is tough day for me because I am a fan of the Phillies and it’s a lot more difficult functioning on less than three hours sleep when your team loses, but I’m a pro so I’ll grind through it. Anyway, if you were a fan of the Bombers, you had it all last night, vintage Pettitte, three hits from Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera on the mound for the final out, Joy-Joy. Hideki Matsui took home the MVP honors after his record tying six-RBI performance and Boomer says you can’t help but be happy for Yankee skipper Joe Girardi, personally I have to disagree. One thing that caught Craig’s attention was following the final out, when the celebration commenced, ‘The Captain’ himself Derek Jeter, was bypassed as the Yankees chose instead to mob Alex Rodriguez. The time they have a changed folks…Plus, during Jerry Recco’s first update Craig imagines the night that Alex Rodriguez had with Kate Hudson and we also heard some ‘exclusive audio’ from the Boss’ son Hank ‘Where’s Your Moses Know’ Steinbrenner, a listen back to John Sterling’s final call, the exact moment the guys knew the Yankees were gonna be celebrating, Girardi’s redemption song, yet another chat with the good folks over at Fox 5’s Good Day NY program, John Flaherty chimes in on all of the happenings and a Moment that you couldn’t help but laugh at…
B&C Blog: 11-04 #27???
An interesting morning on the Boomer and Carton Extravaganza, that had the guys back in studio after taking the entire staff to New Orleans for a little reprieve. There was certainly plenty to talk about as the Yankees get ready to welcome the Phillies to the Bronx for a pivotal Game 6 and the Boom will be in attendance. Boomer was so excited about going to the game, along with his daughter Sidney; that he vented some of his energy by beating up on Craig, literally. After the beating Craig saw something on ESPN that caught his attention and then the guys had a spirited discussion about Mark Teixeria’s lack of production on the World Series…Plus, Jerry gets a little hot under the collar while delivering his 6:30 update and Charlie Manuel reveals a trick of the trade, Craig voices his concerns about Boomer’s attire for tonight’s game, Christopher Walken shows his poker face, Craig plays nice with the folks over on the Fox 5 Good Day NY program, Jerry gets killed for his 8:30 update, Al Dukes books Jerome Bettis against Craig’s wishes and a unanimous Moment of the Day selection…
B&C Blog 11-3: Mardi Gras Morning Show
The show hits the road again today as Boomer, Carton, and the rest of the Morning Show team visits the beautiful city of New Orleans. Now if you’re looking to party few places are better to do so in than New Orleans. There’s only one problem: the hangover. No matter how hard you try, all the good times you had are going to be harshly balanced out in the morning....
B&C Blog: 11-2 One To Go...
A wild weekend in the NY sports scene. For the second time this year, just the third time in the last 25 years, the Giants and Jets played at the same time. The Giants in Philadelphia and the Jets were home looking to avenge an early season loss to the Dolphins. Well, the football games didn’t go as scripted, but the Yankees made up for that in a big way, a VERY big way...Plus, an update that was missing something, a common thread between Boomer and ARod, a couple of stinkers, today marks another ‘Good Day’ in NY, Chris Christie checks in and an obvious Moment...
B&C Blog: 10-30 Action in Atlantic City
A big day on The Morning Show today as Boomer and Craig broadcast live from the Borgata in Atlantic City. The last time I was at the Borgata the girl I was meeting ended up making out with my best friend in a revolving door as I blacked out at the craps table. Luckily, it went much better for Boomer, Craig, and the rest of The Morning Show team today...
B&C Blog: 10-29 Behind the 8-Ball
World Series Game 1 is in the books and the Yankees find themselves trailing the Phillies from Philadelphia after last night’s 6-1 loss. Cliff Lee pitched a complete game and baffled Yankee hitters all night long. Now the question becomes, should fans of the Bombers be pushing the panic button?? Craig certainly doesn’t think so and Boomer didn’t seem all that worried either. It was an interesting night in the Bronx to say the least, as Craig had some choice words for a fan from Philadelphia, which I was there to see, it happened prior to my untimely ejection…Plus, an early morning update from Jerry Recco, a discussion on what men like in a woman, a listeners tribute of sorts to Pedro Martinez, another spot with the folks over on Good Day NY, a tribute to the Yankees from aspiring performer Fo Onassis, Governor David Paterson checks in, a Moment that Jerry tried to escape and Boomer’s old pass catching buddy Cris Collinsworth…
B&C Blog: 10-28 Fall Classic Countdown
It’s game day for the Yankees & Phillies as they get set to open up the 2009 World Series tonight at Yankee Stadium. The Yankees and the city of New York scheduled a pep rally today in Manhattan so Boomer & Craig took the show on the road…to the heart of the city…and broadcasted LIVE from the Modell’s in Times Square.
B&C Blog: 10-27 World Series Eve
Just one more day until baseball is back on the menu, as the World Series kicks-off in the Bronx tomorrow night at 7:57pm sharp. Game 1 will be a match-up of former Cleveland Indians CY Young Award winners, in Cliff Lee for the Phillies: who won the AL CY Young last season (2008) and CC Sabathia for the Yanks; he took home the AL CY Young in 2007, great game if you’re a fan of the Indians. Craig, a lifelong Mets fan, is trying to think of a way to show support for the other team in New York, which I’m sure thrills lifelong fans of the Bombers. Speaking of thrilling people, Al Dukes makes an executive decision that is not too popular with the rest of the staff…Plus, Jerry updates us on Jayson Werth’s bold prediction, more fallout from Al flexing his muscles, Newsday writer Mark Herrmann calls in to try and defend himself, a lucky winner brings up a dilemma that Craig is facing, a World Series overview, Mitch Williams joins the program to break down the Series, Kerry Rhodes joins the guys to talk a little football and a defeated Jerry Recco delivers his Moment of the Day...
B&C Blog: 10-26 It's On
Let the games begin, I speak of course about the Fall Classic, or the World Series as it is called in some circles. The Philadelphia Phillies wrapped things up last Wednesday and have been waiting patiently for their opponent. Well, the waiting game is over as the Yanks dispatched the Angels in 6 games and will now host Games 1 & 2 in the Bronx beginning Wednesday night. The Giants were exposed in Prime Time by the Arizona Cardinals and the Jets embarrassed the Raiders in Oakland, but lost Leon Washington for the rest of the season in the process…Plus, an update from Jerry Recco, Fox 5 Good Day New York comes calling again, Peter King stops by the studio, Craig’s Halloween plans, an in house feud that gives us our Moment of the Day...
